How does it work?

The system uses gravity feed. You charge the Loobman system by gently squeezing the bottle for about three seconds (at a standstill of course) then ride away. As you ride, the oil will run down the delivery tube into the D.S.D. head and out onto the sprocket from where centrifugal force will throw it onto all essential parts of your chain and o-rings.

What is the D S D?

D.S.D. stands for Dual Sided Delivery. LoobMan was the first commercialy available lubrication system to deliver oil to both sides of an 'O' ring chain. This ensures that all parts of the chain and especially the 'O' rings themselves receive efficient lubrication.

What oil should I use?

In a 'total loss' system such as a motorcycle chain almost any oil can be used. LoobMan recommends ordinary engine oil (any grade). Petroleum based EP80 gear oil is recommended for chains by Honda, Takasago etc and used by most race teams. Chainsaw oil is also very popular. Thin oils spread better, thick oils stick better. It's up to you.

Where on the bike does Loobman have to be mounted?

The most popular bottle location is just above the rear sprocket so that lubrication is completed quickly, however you can mount the Loobman squeeze 'n' go bottle anywhere within easy reach of your hand while sitting astride the bike. For instance on the frame, forks, carburettors, inside the fairing, even on the handlebars!. Click the 'bikes' button on the left for examples and photos.

I'm not a mechanic. Will I be able to fit Loobman to my bike?

Certainly. Each Loobman unit comes with full fitting instructions. To fit the unit you will need only a pair of good quality pliers, however to route the delivery tube, you may also need to remove the petrol tank and/or plastic panels.

Can the loobman unit contaminate my rear tyre?

Yes! Just like any other chain oiler. But only if you use it too often!
